I am Rosamond Farrell, but my friends call me Ros. I do not like to be called Rose. I am a qualified counsellor, a widow, mother and grandmother with a big heart for people, especially children and young people. They make me feel young again, but ironically they seem to enjoy my company!!!
I joined Cornerstone over 10 years as a Counsellor, and a year later became part time receptionist for the service. I have worked with children using play therapy with Carefree Kids, (a charitable organisation), then Place2Be in a local school. I have worked with teens in the former John Loughborough and Eden schools. I am an Integrative counsellor, trained in Prepare & Enrich for couples, and use Person centred, Solution Focus, CBT, and creative therapy in my practice. The most challenging part of my job is keeping on top of my admin duties along with seeing clients, but it is most rewarding when I engage with clients in the counselling room, creating a therapeutic alliance with them in a safe and confidential environment.
For anyone who is struggling today, I would say don’t be afraid to seek help. You won’t be judged because all God’s children has stuff and need to become vulnerable in order to heal.
Things I enjoy are entertaining but not cooking; walking and weekly aerobic exercises and teasing my grandchildren.
