I am qualified Counsellor, my background is in Mental Health and it was while working as a mental health nurse in the NHS that I decided to pursue a counselling training course with the intention of using my skills to further enhance the care that I could offer to clients. I have never looked back. For 22 years I worked within day hospital and community mental health services proving psychological therapies for clients with mental health difficulties (ranging from, Depression, Anxiety, Phobia, Eating Disorders, Personality Disorders, PTSD and Perinatal Mental Health. My area of expertise is also in Solution Focus Brief Therapy. However I generally offer an Integrative approach to therapy, drawing also from Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Exploratory approach to therapy.
When I retired from the NHS and without hesitation I made the decision to volunteer my services for Cornerstone Counselling Service and I am delighted to be part of this dynamic team. My passion is giving of my time and skills in helping young people and adults and couples and families to work through their difficulties in a safe and supportive and confidential counselling setting. My passion is also providing psychoeducation to increase mental health awareness. Which helps individuals and groups to cope better with their issues and difficulties and challenges in their life.
